Welcome Message from the
Chairs of IABMAS 2020
The IABMAS Japan is honored for hosting the 10th International Conference on Bridge Maintenance, Safety and Management ( IABMAS 2020, https://www.iabmas 2020.org/ ). The conference will be held from April 11 to 18, 2021. The conference is organized on behalf of the International Association for Bridge Maintenance and Safety (IABMAS, http://www.iabmas.org/), under the auspices of the City of Sapporo and Hokkaido University, Japan.
The aim of IABMAS 2020 is to provide an appropriate opportunity for exchange of knowledge, experiences and new findings related to bridge maintenance, safety, and management and related topics for stimulating and promoting research into this field, and bridging the gap between theory and practice. IABMAS 2020 will also provide an informal atmosphere and sufficient free time for scientific connections and interactions with past and future collaborators and colleagues. IABMAS 2020 will be of interest to researchers, representatives from all sections of bridge engineering, bridge engineers working with transportation departments, consultants, contractors and local authorities interested in all aspects of bridge maintenance, safety, and management.
Hokkaido is located at the northern part of the archipelago. With a population approaching nearly two million, Sapporo is the largest city and is the main commercial and business center of Hokkaido. Sapporo hosted the 1972 Winter Olympics and is famous for its Snow Festival, Sapporo beer, and varieties of delicious foods. Sapporo will be a convergence place for academics, researchers and practitioners in the field of bridge maintenance, safety and management, and a place for you to merge with nature and with other cultures. By participating in IABMAS 2020 one can promote his/her research and professional work, learn and discuss the latest accomplishments, innovations and potential future directions, and also enjoy the excellent nature and food.
We look forward to meeting you at IAMBAS 2020.
